Veteran actor Nana Patekar, who recently made a comeback to films after being accused of sexual misconduct during the #MeToo movement in India, was caught on camera slapping a fan.

A video that is being widely circulated online shows a fan approaching the actor for a selfie, and getting hit on the head. He is then dragged away by presumably a security personnel.

Nana Patekar is reportedly shooting in Varanasi for the film ‘Journey’. It was recently reported that the actor has been roped in to play a pivotal part in the film which is directed by ‘Gadar’ and ‘Gadar 2’ fame Anil Sharma and also stars his son Utkarsh Sharma.

Social media users are in shock by Nana Patekar’s reaction.

‘That was too hard,’ a social media user wrote. ‘Not cool,’ added another.

‘That’s so rudeeee,’ a third user wrote.

‘Ridiculous, what was the need to hit the person so hard?!?!? Ugh, I actually feel grossed out watching this,’ a comment read.

In a recent statement to the press, Nana Patekar talked about his forthcoming film and said, ‘As a filmmaker, my ‘Journey’ is all about crafting stories that touch the soul, and this film is no exception. It’s a tribute to the timeless appeal of a true family bond, and I’m thrilled to have the legendary actor, Nana Patekar on board with us, and with all the love that Utkarsh has received after the success of ‘Gadar 2’, to see this combined energy and artistry, I believe ‘Journey’ will be an unforgettable experience for our audience, filled with love and emotion.’

Nana Patekar was last seen in the film ‘The Vaccine War’, directed by Vivek Agnihotri. It is follow-up to his smash hit ‘The Kashmir Files’.

The film tanked at the box office.

This film marked the actor’s first theatrical release since 2018 after Rajinikanth-starrer ‘Kaala’.
