Actor Sonam Kapoor and her businessman-husband Anand Ahuja welcomed a baby boy on August 20. The ‘Neerja’ actor was discharged from the hospital on August 26. She reached her residence in the evening and received a grand welcome. Cameramen stationed outside their home captured the special moment in which Sonam and Anand could be seen entering their residence and a small welcoming puja was performed for them. Anand was seen carefully holding their newborn in his arms.
Later, Sonam's dad Anil Kapoor and her husband were seen distributing sweets to the paparazzi and also thanking them.
Sonam and Anand tied the knot on May 8, 2018, in a traditional ceremony. In March 2022, the couple announced that they are expecting their first child together through an Instagram post.
Earlier, the actor talked to Vogue a leading fashion magazine about the challenges that a woman faces during pregnancy. She said, ‘Everyone’s so tense about women who get pregnant after 31 or 32. They tell you don’t do this, don’t do that, don’t get gestational diabetes or pre-eclampsia. I was like, Wait, hang on, I still feel very young. I’ve got my dad’s genes. It’ll be fine.’
