Nitesh Tiwari begins shoot for Ranbir Kapoor, Yash starrer ‘Ramayana’, ₹11 crore Ayodhya set prepared

Amid the reports of producer backing out and speculations about delay, the filming of Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’ has commenced. Ranbir Kapoor, who will play Lord Ram in the film is all set to join the shoot soon. Here are all the details about the much-awaited film.  

‘Ramayana’ shoot commences  

According to the reports, Ranbir Kapoor will join the shoot in mid-April and the other stars of the magnum opus including Yash, Sai Pallavi, Sunny Deol, Arun Govil will join later to shoot their parts. The film will be released in three parts and Yash will have limited role in the first film as it will cover Lord Ram’s childhood, Sita Swayamvar and the abduction. Till then, Yash is expected to finish the shoot for another project ‘Toxic’. However, the director has commenced the shooting with body doubles and junior artists.  

About the ‘Ramayana’ set 

A large part of the budget is being spent on the sets to make the film look larger than life on screens. Reports suggest that a huge set worth ₹11 crore is being prepared for Ayodhya and similar sets are being prepared for Gurukul, Forest and Mithila.   

Ranbir Kapoor is preparing hard for the role according to the reports. Recently, some pictures of the actor went viral, where he was seen with an archery coach. In another viral picture, Ranbir was seen training and performing a headstand. The ‘Animal’ actor has also made some lifestyle changes to do proper justice to his role according to some reports.  

About Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’ 

The makers are expected to make an official announcement on Ram Navami about the official cast and shooting. While Ranbir Kapoor has been cast for the role of Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi will play Sita and South Superstar Yash will portray the role of ‘Ravana’. The film will also star Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Arun Govil, Ravi Dubey as per the reports.  The film is scheduled to release in 2025.
