Actor Nitesh Pandey, who was known for playing the role of Shah Rukh Khan’s assistant in ‘Om Shaanti Om’, has passed away at the age of 51 due to a cardiac arrest. He was in Igatpuri in Mumbai at the time of his death. His brother-in-law, producer Siddharth Nigam has confirmed the news.
Speaking with ETimes, he said the family has gone absolutely numb. He added that he was returning from Delhi when he heard the news. Siddharth said Nitesh was much younger than him and was a very lively person.
Nitesh Pandey began his career as a theatre artist in 1990. He got his first acting break in a show called ‘Tejas’ in 1995 in which he played a detective. He then went on to star in shows such as ‘Manzilein Apani Apani’, ‘Astitva...Ek Prem Kahani’, ‘Saaya’, ‘Durgesh Nandini’, and ‘Anupamaa’. His works in films include ‘Om Shanti Om’ and ‘Khosla Ka Ghosla’.
Neeraj Pandey owns a production house called Dream Castle Productions, which produces Radio shows.
Nitesh was married to actor Arpita Pandey whom he met on a TV show, ‘Justajoo’. He was also previously married to actor Ashwini Kalsekar.
