The much-awaited sequel of OMG: Oh My God!’, starring Akshay Kumar, Yami Gautam, and Pankaj Tripathi, will hit the theatres on August 11. The makers took to social media on June 9 to announce the release date along with a poster of Akshay Kumar as Lord Shiva.
The movie, directed by Amit Rai, will reportedly be talking about the education system in India, specifically addressing adult education.
Over the last few months, there were reports that ‘OMG 2’ will go for a direct digital release, but the makers have now decided to bring the movie to the theatres on Independence Day weekend.
Ranbir Kapoor starrer ‘Animal’ and ‘Gadar 2’, starring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel, is also scheduled to release in cinemas on Independence Day weekend.
Akshay Kumar was last seen in ‘Selfiee’ alongside Emraan Hashmi, Nushrratt Bharuccha and Diana Penty. The movie, which was a remake of the Malayalam film ‘Driving License’, failed to impress the audience and tanked at the box office.
After ‘OMG 2’, Akshay Kumar has multiple projects in the pipeline including ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’, ‘The Great Indian Rescue’ and ‘Phir Hera Pheri’.
