The song ‘Naatu Naatu’ from SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus ‘RRR’ created history at the 95th Academy Awards as it won the Best Original Song award. It is the first song from any Indian production to win the award, and the second Indian song to win this prestigious award, after 'Jai Ho' from 'Slumdog Millionaire' which won in the same category in 2009.
Composer MM Keeravani and musician Chandrabose accepted the award on stage. Sung by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava, the foot-tapping track features the film’s lead actors Ram Charan and Jr NTR.
Congratulatory messages are pouring in for the 'RRR' team on social media.
Alia Bhatt took to Instagram stories to share her excitement. Sharing a screenshot of Variety magazine's announcement and wrote, 'Aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh.'
Kangana Ranaut also extended her best wishes to 'RRR' team, she wrote, 'Congratulations to entire India a movie about suppression, torture, killing, colonisation of Indians based on racial grounds gets appreciated on a world platform, number of Indians died just during one Bengal famine were way more than Jews died during holocaust. Thank team RRR'
Priyanka Chopra has also wished the team. Taking to Instagram stories, she wrote, 'Yessss team @rrrmovie,' along with red heart emoji
Superstar Chiranjeevi reacted to 'Naatu Naatu's big win at Oscars 2023 and tweeted, '#NaatuNaatu ON TOP OF THE WORLD !!!
