The Padma awards 2022 were announced on the eve of Republic Day by the Union Ministry which included the names of a total of 107 eminent personalities like Victor Banerjee, singer Sonu Nigam, filmmaker Chandrprakash Dwivedi and actress Sowcar Janaki.
Victor Banerjee will be honoured with the Padma Bhushan, India's third-highest civilian award. While Singer Sonu Nigam, writer-director Chandrprakash Dwivedi and actress Sowcar Janaki will receive the Padma Shri, the fourth-highest award.

Padma Awards 2022 will be bestowed upon the artists later this year by President Ramnath Kovind.
The list of 128 Padma Awards comprises four Padma Vibhushan, 17 Padma Bhushan and 107 Padma Shri Awards.
Victor Banerjee
Actor Victor Banerjee has appeared in English, Hindi, Bengali and Assamese language films, working with marquee directors such as David Lean, James Ivory, Roman Polanski and Ronald Neame, and closer home, with Mrinal Sen, Shyam Benegal and Ram Gopal Verma.
Sonu Nigam
Singer Sonu Nigam's career spans to three-decades. He made his debut in 1992. The versatile singer is known for his unforgettable voice and is country's one of the most regarded playback singers. At the age of 48 he has set a benchmark for young singers in the Indian cinema.
Chandrprakash Dwivedi
Chandrprakash Dwivedi is best known for directing the 1991 epic series Chanakya. He also played the role of the political strategist Chanakya and won the hearts of millions. He also directed Urmila Matondkar and Manoj Bajpayee-starrer Partition drama "Pinjar", which had bagged the National Film Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration. Akshay Kumar-starrer "Prithviraj" is also helmed by him.
Sowcar Janaki
Sowcar Janaki is known for her work in the South film industry and has appeared in over 450 movies. Both will be awarded the Padma Shri.
