Actor Pankaj Tripathi is one of the most versatile actors in Bollywood, having worked in films of different genres like ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’, ‘Newton’ and ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’. He is also a popular face in the digital space with series like ‘Mirzapur’, ‘Criminal Justice’ and ‘Sacred Games’. Besides, playing a small role in the Hollywood film ‘Extraction’, the actor has barely worked outside the Hindi industry.
Pankaj Tripathi explained why he is not willing to work in a Hollywood or a regional project at the ongoing International Film Festival of India in Goa. Tripathi said he will do a regional film if someone writes a Hindi-speaking role for him.
He further explained that because he understands Hindi better, he understands its emotions and nuances better. He said apart from Hollywood, he also gets offers from Telugu and Malayalam filmmakers but he doesn’t feel that he’ll be able to do justice to those films because he won’t be able to speak the language.
Pankaj Tripathi was last seen in ‘Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga’. He now has ‘Fukrey 3’ and the third season of Mirzapur in the pipeline. Recently, it was also announced that he will portray the role of India’s former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in a biopic titled, ‘Main Rahoon Ya Na Rahoon Yeh Desh Rehna Chahiye – Atal’.
