Mani Ratnam's 'Ponniyin Selvan,' starring Chiyaan Vikram, is one of the most-awaited films of 2022 but unfortunately it has landed into legal trouble. A legal notice has been issued to the makers of the film by lawyer Selvam for misrepresenting the Cholas, one of the longest-ruling dynasties.
As per reports in India Today, the petitioner pointed out that Aditya Karikalan, played by Vikram, doesn't have tilak on his forehead. However, the poster of the actor from 'Ponniyin Selvan' shows him wearing a tilak.

The petitioner has now demanded a special screening of the film ahead of its release to check if the makers have distorted historical facts.

Mani Ratnam and Vikram are yet to respond to the legal notice.

'Ponniyin Selvan' is being made in two parts, and the first part of the film is scheduled to release on September 30. The film also marks Aishwarya rai Bachchan's comeback to the big screen after five years.
