Vikram Vedha, starring Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan, released in theatres on Friday. The film, which clashed with Mani Ratnam's magnum opus 'Ponniyin Selvan I', collected around Rs 10 crores on day one.
Taking to Twitter, trade analyst Ramesh Bala wrote 'Early estimates for #VikramVedha All-India Nett is around ₹ 10 Crs.. Day 1..'. The film is a remake of Tamil film of the same name, starring R. Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi, and is directed by Pushkar–Gayathri, director of the original film.
The film has received a positive response from the audience as well as critics, who praised the performances of the lead actors and the action sequences.
According to trade analysts, Tamil film 'Ponniyin Selvan I' collected around 80 crores worldwide on the first day. The film has registered the biggest worldwide opening by any Tamil film this year, beating films like 'Vikram' and 'Valimai'.
The film stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Vikram, Karthi, Trisha Krishnan, Sobhita Dhulipala and Aishwarya Lekshmi, among others. Aishwarya plays a dual role in the film- princess Nandini and her mother Mandakini Devi.
