Raju Srivastava is stable and doctors are treating him well, says his wife

Popular comedian Raju Srivastava, who has been on a ventilator since August 10 after he suffered a heart attack, is stable. His wife Shikha Srivastava told news agency PTI that he's a 'fighter' and will come back to be amongst us all. 
'He is stable. Doctors are treating him well. Raju ji is a fighter and he will come back to be amongst all of us. We need your prayers and wishes,' Shikha told PTI.

The comedian was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences after he suffered a heart attack on August 10. He underwent angioplasty the same day and has been on a ventilator since then.
Raju Srivastava was trending on Twitter on Thursday with many speculating about his health. Earlier in the day, reports also suggested that the comedian was critical and had suffered brain damage.

His wife has urged the media and fans to not spread rumours as it affects the family's 'morale'. 

'My sincere request is kindly do not spread rumors. It affects our morale. We do not want negative energy, we need positivity. Please pray for his speedy recovery and that he will be back soon. Doctors are giving their best and Raju ji is supporting them, He is fighting. So, kindly do not spread negativity,' she said.

Raju Srivastava has been a familiar face in the entertainment industry since the late 1980s. He gained recognition after participating in the first season of stand-up comedy show 'The Great Indian Laughter Challenge' in 2005. 

He appeared in Hindi films such as 'Maine Pyar Kiya', 'Baazigar', 'Bombay to Goa' (remake), and 'Aamdani Atthani Kharcha Rupaiya'. He was one of the contestants on 'Bigg Boss' season three. 

Raju Srivastava is the current chairman of the Film Development Council Uttar Pradesh.
