Ram Gopal Varma's fascination with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi continued into the late hours of October 15.
The filmmaker, who has been contemplating a biopic on Bishnoi, boldly stated that he doesn't know any film star who can match the gangster's good looks.
Ram Gopal Varma posted a photo of Lawrence in an orange t-shirt and a black-and-orange hoodie, captioning it on his X account, ‘If a film is about the BIGGEST GANGSTER, no filmmaker would cast someone who resembles DAWOOD IBRAHIM or CHOTA RAJAN. But honestly, I don’t know any FILM STAR who is more GOOD LOOKING than B.’
X users flocked to the comment section of his post with some intriguing replies. One user quipped, ‘Casting Salman Khan as Lawrence would be the biggest irony! (smile emoji).’ Another chimed in, ‘RGV’s newfound crush! (laughing with tears emoji).’
A third commenter noted, ‘Great point! It’s like Hollywood casting supermodels as gritty detectives—rarely a realistic match. If Bishnoi’s life hits the big screen, they’ll likely choose someone much more glamorous, making it a true ‘Bollywood’ version.’
Meanwhile, a fourth commenter added, ‘Let him play his own role. I hope you direct his biography!’
Lawrence's feud with Salman dates back to the infamous 1998 blackbuck poaching case in Rajasthan. He has publicly threatened Salman and his supporters and is allegedly linked to the murder of the actor's close aide, NCP leader Baba Siddique.
Baba Siddique, a prominent Indian politician and close aide of actor Salman Khan, was reportedly killed on February 23, 2022. Siddique, a member of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), was shot dead outside his residence in Mumbai.
Siddique had been linked to Salman Khan's circle, which heightened suspicions regarding the motive behind the killing.
Following the murder, law enforcement agencies increased security measures for Salman Khan and other individuals associated with him due to the threats posed by Bishnoi and his gang. The case is still under investigation, with authorities working to apprehend those responsible for the crime.
On the work front, Salman is currently busy filming for Bigg Boss 18 and Sikandar. Meanwhile, Ram Gopal Varma recently directed the Telugu film Vyooham.
