Ranbir Kapoor was summoned notice by the Enforcement Directorate to appear before it on October 6, in relation to an online betting case. And now according to a latest report by India Today, the actor has asked for more time from the central probe agency to appear before it in person.
On Thursday, Ranbir Kapoor requested the ED to give him two weeks' time.
Claims by Enforcement Directorate
Enforcement Directorate has alleged that Ranbir Kapoorr received money from the promoters of the Mahadev betting app to promote their product.
Investigation by ED
ED and police departments from several states are currently probing the online betting app. According to media reports, ED found evidence that Rs 112 crore was delivered via hawala to an event management company, while hotel bookings worth Rs 42 crore was made in cash.
The report also says that ED is also working on investigating the success party for the app organised by Chandrakar and the second promoter, Ravi Uppal in September 2022. The party was attended by several Bollywood big names, and they are now under the ED's scanner.
Assets worth Rs 417 crore in connection with the Mahadev online betting case have been seized by the ED.
