Ranveer Singh has been in the news since pictures from his nude photoshoot for an international magazine went viral on the internet. While some praised the actor’s bold move, a section of people found it offensive. Now, as per news agency ANI, Ranveer Singh will be served a notice by the Mumbai Police to record his statement in connection with his nude photoshoot row. They couldn’t serve him notice at present as the actor is out of town. He will receive the notice on August 16.
Ranveer Singh will reportedly appear before the Chembur police to record his statement on August 22.
An FIR was filed against the ‘Simba’ actor on July 26 on a complaint filed at the Chembur Police Station. The complaint was filed by an office bearer of an NGO, who alleged that Ranveer hurt the sentiments of women with his pictures. A complaint was also filed before the Maharashtra State Commission for Women by advocate Ashish Rai, who claimed that the photo shoot was against the 'dignity of women and small children
On the work front, Ranveer Singh will next feature in Karan Johar's ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ along with Alia Bhatt. He will also star in Rohit Shetty's ‘Cirkus’ and reportedly in the official Hindi remake of the 2005 Tamil psychological action thriller ‘Anniyan’.
