Ranveer Singh starrer sports drama ‘83’ had a slow start at the Box Office, but thanks to Christmas, it managed to maintain steady at the Box Office.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the film's collection on Twitter, he said, Kabir Khan's film earned a net profit of Rs 12.64 crore on its release day, it amassed Rs 16.95 crore on Saturday and Rs 17.4 crore on Sunday. At the end of its first weekend, the sports drama collected around Rs 47 crore, which is a low score for a huge film like '83'.
Interestingly, despite the low figures, ’83’ did not record a drop in collection on Sunday. Even as the metros continue to rake in the moolah, Mysore is reportedly the best earning market for ‘83’ while Bihar and Odisha are not contributing massively to its collections.
Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh have been promoting the film in full swing. Directed by Kabir Khan, '83' is based on the Indian cricket team's iconic cricket World Cup win in 1983.
Deepika Padukone, co-producer of the film, plays the role of Romi Dev, Kapil’s wife. The film released on December 24.
