Raveena Tandon sues X user who poster her video, claimed ‘she was drunk and assaulted people’

Raveena Tandon faced an ordeal recently when a group of people mobbed and attacked her. The video of the incident went viral on social media and the actor was heard pleading with the mob to not hit her. The actor has now taken legal action against the person who put out her video with false claims.  

Raveena files defamation suit 

For the unversed, Raveena Tandon was recently embroiled in a big controversy as the actor was accused of assault and rash driving. A group of people attacked her alleging the she assaulted an elderly woman. Later the CCTV evidence proved her innocence and the actor was given a clean chit. 

In the latest development, the actor has now sued the person who put out her video on social media. The X user, claiming to be a journalist, was the first one to put out the video on social media. In his caption, he had claimed that Raveena was drunk and assaulted a few people.  
He was reportedly requested by Raveena’s team to pull down the video, but he refused to do so, prompting the actor to file the defamation suit.  

Raveena's lawyer's statement

As per Hindustan Times report, Raveena Tandon has sent a defamation notice to the freelance journalist who shared the video on June 12. Raveena’s lawyer said that it was an attempt to tarnish the actor’s image. “This dissemination of false news appears to be a deliberate attempt to tarnish Raveena’s reputation for ulterior motives. We are currently taking all necessary legal steps to address this issue and ensure that justice is served” said Raveena’s lawyer.
