Just days after ‘Don 3’ trended on Twitter following a cryptic post from Amitabh Bachchan featuring Shah Rukh Khan, it looks like the wait for the fans of the action-thriller franchise is finally coming to an end. As per a Pinkvilla report, actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhtar has already started working on the script of ‘Don 3’ and he will be sharing the screenplay with SRK soon.

A source close to the development told Pinkvilla that ‘Don’ is a subject close to everyone at Excel and they have come up with an idea that’s exciting and will take the franchise to the next level. The source further added that Farhan has discussed the idea with his father Javed Akhtar, the original creator of ‘Don’ (1978), and everyone around is giving more than 100 percent to this project.

Earlier this month, filmmaker Ritesh Sidhwani shared a picture of Farhan Akhtar working on a laptop. In his post, he had mentioned that Farhan is back in writer mode after a long hiatus. Sidhwani’s post left netizens wondering if Farhan had started working on ‘Don 3.’

For the unversed, Amitabh Bachchan starred in the first part of ‘Don’ which released in 1978. The sequel of the film, which released in 2011, featured Shah Rukh Khan in the titular role and it was written by Farhan himself and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani.
