Samantha Ruth Prabhu cries at 'Shaakuntalam' trailer launch, talks about 'love for cinema'

Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu got emotional at the trailer launch event of her forthcoming mythological film 'Shaakuntalam' and opened up about her love of cinema.

Speaking at the event, she said, 'No matter how many struggles I face in life, one thing won’t change. That’s how much I love cinema and cinema loves me back. I strongly believe that this love will grow manifold with Shaakuntalam.'

Thanking the director for choosing her for the role, she added, 'In Indian literature history, the story of Shakuntala is one of the most memorable ones. I feel so lucky that Gunasekhar sir chose me for this character. It is truly my privilege.'

Directed by Gunasekhar, 'Shaakuntalam' will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. It is all set to hit the theatres on February 17.

On the work front, besides 'Shaakuntalam', Samantha Ruth Prabhu also has 'Khusi', co-starring Vijay Deverakonda, in the pipeline.
