Over the past few years, many celebrities have opened up about their personal health issues and there's no denying that when they talk about it publicly it can help raise awareness, lessen stigma and can act as a supportive force to fans who may be dealing with something similar.
From Samantha Ruth Prabhu to Justin Bieber, let’s take a look at some celebrities who have publicly spoken about their health conditions.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu
The actor took to social media and informed her fans that she has been diagnosed with an autoimmune condition called Myositis. Samantha posted a photo in which she is seen seated on a couch with an IV drip connected to her wrist and mentioned that she was diagnosed with this autoimmune condition a few months back and she was hoping to share the news after it had gone into remission. But it is taking a little longer than she hoped. She added that she is slowly realising that she doesn’t always need to put up a strong front.
Samantha said that has had her share of good days and bad days and she’s sure that this too shall pass.

Salman Khan
Salman is one of the fittest actors of the industry, but did you know that once suffered from a nerve disorder named Trigeminal Neuralgia, also called ‘suicide disease’?
The actor opened up about this health condition and how he underwent treatment for it in the US during one of the song launches of ‘Tubelight’ in Dubai.
A video was shared online in which he said, ‘I was suffering from this nerve problem called Trigeminal Neuralgia. So I couldn’t talk. Had to talk like that (speaking with his mouth slightly closed) and a huge amount of pain.’
He also mentioned that the pain is so excruciating that many patients have even contemplated suicide.

Amitabh Bachchan
In 2005, Big B underwent a complicated surgery of the small intestine due to diverticulitis. This condition is when weakness in the wall of the small intestine results in the formation of many small pouches, which can get inflamed or infected. In the superstar’s case, it was found that one of these pouches had been perforated.

Justin Bieber
The singer took to social media in June and revealed that he was suffering from facial paralysis after being diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome. In his video, Bieber said, ‘It is from this virus that attacks the nerve in my ear and my facial nerves and has caused my face to have paralysis.
Bieber mentioned that he has been doing facial exercises to get back to normal, but he does not know how long it will take to recover.
Bieber took a break from Justice World Tour, which began in February, to focus on his health.

Jada Pinkett Smith
Legendary actor Will Smith slapped Oscar presenter Chris Rock during the 94th Annual Academy Awards after he joked about his wife Jada’s hair loss, and left everyone in shock.
For the unversed, Jada suffers from a medical condition called alopecia areata which leads to acute hair loss, generally in patches, at times causing complete baldness. She first spoke about it in 2018. In December 2021, she posted a video on Instagram, saying she and this alopecia are going to be friends.

Varun Dhawan
The Actor revealed that he was diagnosed with vestibular hypofunction, in which inner ear part of your balance system does not work properly, and he 'shut down'. He recalled that he pushed himself for 'Jugjugg Jeeyo' to the point that he felt he 'was running for an election'.
