Acclaimed sand artist Sudarsan Patnaik paid tribute to late actor-director Satish Kaushik with a massive sand sculpture at Puri beach in Odisha. He shared pictures of the sand art on Twitter and wrote, ‘Deeply saddened by the sudden demise of actor, director and writer #SatishKaushik Ji. My deepest condolences to his bereaved family and followers. Om Shanti. My SandArt at Puri beach.’
Satish Kaushik died following a heart attack on March 9 in Delhi. The news of his death left the film fraternity in shock with many condoling his demise. His body was brought to Mumbai on Thursday afternoon and the last riles were held at Versova crematorium.
Satish Kaushik was not just an actor and director, he was also a producer, comedian, and screenwriter. He is best known for his roles as Calendar in ‘Mr. India’, Pappu Pager in ‘Deewana Mastana’, and Chanu Ahmed in Sarah Gavron's British film ‘Brick Lane’.
Satish Kaushik is survived by his wife and daughter Vanshika.
