Akshay Kumar’s latest release ‘Selfiee’, co-starring Emraan Hashmi, has registered ‘shockingly low’ numbers on day one. The film also stars Nushrratt Bharuccha and Diana Penty in lead roles.
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the box office figures from multiplex chains on social media. ‘#Selfiee at national chains… *Day 1* biz…#PVR: 64 lacs #INOX: 43 lacs #Cinepolis: 23 lacs Total: ₹ 1.30 cr Nett BOC. According to a report in Sacnilk, the Raj Mehta directorial will record a ‘disastrous’ opening of no more than ₹3 crore, and it might even be Akshay's worst opening film ever.
‘Selfiee’ is an official Hindi remake of the Malayalam film ‘Driving License’.
Akshay's last few movies ‘Raksha Bandhan’, ‘Ram Setu’, ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ and ‘Bachchan Pandey’ also could not perform well at the box office.
