The trailer of Samantha Ruth Prabhu's much anticipated mythological drama 'Shaakuntalam' has finally been unveiled.
It opens with a shot of a mighty kingdom and the narrator introduces an abandoned baby Shaakuntala – born to Menaka and Viswamithra. The next shot shows how king Dushyant and Shakuntala met for the first time in a forest and it goes on to highlight Shaakuntala’s fight for her love and the repercussions she has to face for the same. Towards the end, the makers even give a glimpse of her son Bharat.
Directed by Gunasekhar, the film will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. It is all set to hit the theatres on February 17.
The film also stars Dev Mohan, Allu Arha, Sachin Khedekar, Kabir Bedi, Dr.M Mohan Babu, Prakash Raj, Madhubala, Gautami, Aditi Balan, Ananya Nagalla, Jisshu Sengupta and others.
