The three day long Ambani extravanganza has concluded but the internet can hardly move on from the hangover of most talked about event. The videos and pictures from the truly star-studded celebration are going viral. Amid all the talk about the Jamnagar festivities, Shah Rukh Khan has found himself landing in a controversy. The Bollywood superstar has been facing massive backlash over his alleged insult to Telugu star Ram Charan.
Shah Rukh Khan took on the responsibility of a host at the Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding bash apart from entertaining the guests with his performance with wife Gauri Khan and other two Khans of the industry. While the three Khans danced to the tunes of ‘Naatu Naatu’, SRK called for Ram Charan on stage. “Where are you, Ram Charan?” Shah Rukh asked multiple times as he invited the ‘RRR’ star to join them on stage and show them the ‘Naatu Naatu’ moves. In a moment of jest, SRK started to speak Telugu words and used the word ‘idly’ before Ram Charan’s name. While the Telugu superstar did join the three Khans on stage and grooved to the banger from his film, there were many in the audience who were not happy with SRK.
Ram Charan’s make up artist Zeba Hassan Zaidi took to her Instagram story to express her angst over the issue and revealed that she walked out of the event. A screenshot of her Instagram story is going viral on the internet, however, the same is not visible on her Instagram. “Bhend idly vada Ram Charan kahan hai tu”? I walked out after this. So disrespectful towards a star like @alwaysramcharan,” she had reportedly written in her Instagram story.
Social media has been divided as the video clip is going viral. Some of Ram Charan’s fans have called Shah Rukh’s behaviour racist and slammed the actor for it while many others have accused SRK of disrespecting South film industry. However, there has been no comment from either Shah Rukh or Ram Charan on the matter.
