‘Shaitaan’ X review: Ajay Devgn & Madhavan impress audience but film fails the horror test

Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan starrer much-awaited film Shaitaan released in theatres today. The film follows the story of a father fighting with his life to free his daughter possessed by ‘Shaitaan’. Amid the excitement, fans showered love on the film, praising Ajay and Madhavan’s performances on twitter but there were many who did not find it scary enough. 

‘Shaitaan’ reviews on ‘X’ 

Social media has been flooded with fans and moviegoers sharing their experience about the film. To begin with, Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan’s performances have been the talk of the town. Their performances in the suspense horror thriller left the fans stunned. Most of the posts praising the film mentioned the powerful performances delivered by the two talent powerhouses.   
On the downside, there were fans who believe that the horror was toned down in the film. Overall, 'Shaitaan' passed the test of thrill and emotions for moviegoers but many were disappointed as they found the film failing in the horror test. With a mixed review, the coming weekend turnout at theatres will give a clearer picture.  

About ‘Shaitaan’ 

Packed with talented star cast, the film is directed by Vikas Bahl. ‘Shaitaan’ is the official Hindi remake of Vash, a Gujarati horror thriller. ‘Shaitaan’ delves into the timeless clash between virtue and villainy, offering an enthralling cinematic narrative. With the support of Jio Studios, Devgn Films, and Panorama Studios, the movie boasts a production team including Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Abhishek Pathak.  

‘Shaitaan’ sequel 

A sequel to the film is already being planned by the makers. During the trailer launch of the film last month, producer Kumar Mangat shared insights, revealing that the entire shoot was wrapped up in just 40 days. Furthermore, he teased fans by disclosing that the sequel is in the pipeline, stating, ‘The shoot was completed in 40 days. Part 2 is also on our minds.’ This announcement has undoubtedly sparked anticipation among audiences, hinting at more thrilling adventures to come in the future.
