Veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha shut down rumours of a rift with his daughter, Sonakshi Sinha, ahead of her wedding. The actor-turned-politician met her fiancé, Zaheer Iqbal, and his family on June 20. Shatrughan and his wife, Poonam Sinha, were photographed leaving Zaheer’s house.

Speculation had been circulating that Sonakshi’s family was upset about her sudden wedding plans with Zaheer, but the photos and videos have dispelled these rumours.

Shatrughan posed happily with Zaheer after meeting his family in Mumbai. He hugged the groom-to-be and jokingly told the paparazzi, ‘khamosh.’

In high spirits, Shatrughan also waved at the photographers before heading to his car.

When Shatrughan Sinha addressed rumours

In a recent interview, Shatrughan Sinha addressed the rumours about Sonakshi’s wedding, criticising those spreading ‘lies’ about his family. ‘Tell me, whose life is it anyway? It’s just the life of my only daughter Sonakshi, whom I’m very proud of and immensely fond of,’ he told Times Now.com/Zoom. ‘She calls me the pillar of her strength. I will certainly be at the wedding. Why shouldn’t I and why wouldn’t I?,’ he added.

Shatrughan said that Sonakshi has ‘every right to choose her partner’ and he is supportive of her decision. Commenting on his daughter’s husband-to-be, Shatrughan said, ‘Sonakshi and Zaheer have to live their life together. They look very nice together.’

He continued, ‘Those who are coming out with fake news are just sounding very frustrated with this joyous occasion as they are spreading nothing but lies. I’d like to caution them with my signature dialogue: Khamosh, it’s none of your business.’

Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal are set to tie the knot in Mumbai on June 23.
The duo starred together in the comedy-drama ‘Double XL’, which also featured Huma Qureshi in a significant role.

Who is Zaheer Iqbal?

Zaheer is the son of businessman Iqbal Ratansi, who is a childhood friend of Salman Khan.
