Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja welcomed a baby boy on August 20, 2022. The couple took to social media to announce the news of the baby’s arrival in a joint statement. Soon after, Vogue, a fashion magazine, unveiled her cover picture from the latest photo shoot which had her flaunting her baby bump in an unbuttoned shirt. In an exclusive interview with the magazine, Sonam talked about the challenges of being of advanced maternal age and navigating a tough first trimester.

The ‘Raanjhanaa’ actor shared that she took progesterone shots on her thighs and stomach due to her late pregnancy. She added that she was constantly throwing up, sick, and bedridden.

Sonam said everyone is so tensed about women who get pregnant after 31 and 32 and tell them what not to do. However, she still feels very young as she has got her dad’s (Anil Kapoor) genes.

‘Everyone’s so tense about women who get pregnant after 31 or 32. They tell you don’t do this, don’t do that, don’t get gestational diabetes or pre-eclampsia. I was like, “Wait, hang on, I still feel very young. I’ve got my dad’s (Anil Kapoor) genes, I look very young. It’ll be fine,’ said Sonam Kapoor.

Sonam also talked about how many people in London were suffering from COVID-19 during the first trimester of her pregnancy. She said that she was terrified and started googling ‘what happens if you have COVID when you’re pregnant?’.

Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja tied the knot on May 8, 2018. They announced their pregnancy in March, sharing pictures from the maternity photoshoot.

On the work front, Sonam next feature in ‘Blind’, co-starring Purab Kohli, Vinay Pathak, and Lillete Dubey. It is a remake of the 2011 Korean film of the same name.
