‘Stree 2’ release date announced: This is when Rajkummar Rao & Shraddha Kapoor starrer will hit theatres

After the unexpectedly positive response to ‘Munjya’, Maddock Films is back with the sequel of their superhit film ‘Stree’. The horror comedy starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor has a confirmed release date. The makers are also dropping its teaser today but there’s a catch.  

‘Stree 2’ release date 

Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor’s ‘Stree 2’ has sealed the date. The film will hit the theatres on August 15. A teaser of the upcoming film will also be out today, however, it will exclusively be available in cinemas with ‘Munjya’ from today. 

Sharing the exciting update, Maddock Films shared a collaborative post with the film’s team members on Instagram. The post read, “Iss Swatantrata diwas, aa rahi hai #Stree fir se! #Stree2 in cinemas this Independence Day, 15th August 2024. Catch the #Stree 2 Teaser exclusively in cinemas with #Munjya from today.”

‘Stree 2’ was initially scheduled to release on August 30 2024, however, the makers have preponed it to Independence Day. With this, ‘Stree 2’ has become third film to recently confirm the Independence Day release date. Recently, Akshay Kumar’s ‘Khel Khel Mein’ and John Abraham’s ‘Vedaa’ also announced August 15 as their release date. Allu Arjun starrer ‘Pushpa 2’ was also scheduled to release on Independence Day, however, reports suggest that there might be a delay in the release.

A sequel to ‘Stree’, released in 2018, ‘Stree 2’ is the fifth film in Maddock Supernatural Universe. Besides Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, the film also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurana. Directed by Amar Kaushik, ‘Stree 2’ is produced by Dinesh Vijan and Jyoti Deshpande.
