Actor Suniel Shetty, who is busy promoting his upcoming web series 'Dharavi Bank', talked about his idea of stardom and superstar. He also named Ranbir Kapoor, Tiger Shroff, and Ranveer Singh as the ‘true-blue superstars’ of the new generation.
In an exclusive interview with ETimes, Suniel was questioned why it's difficult to make two hero films these days. To which the actor said, 'Each one is insecure about themselves. Each one talks about the amount of money he wants to take home and not about how much money he wants to put into the product.'
'When they want to talk to their audience, it’s only pre-release, not through the year. When you redeem your audience and you want the audience to stick to you, you got to give them something constantly. You have to think of them and not yourself. I don’t take my dog for a walk when I have to release a film. I don’t go and support an NGO when I have to release a film, that has to be a part of my DNA. Those are things we don’t talk about,' he added.
When asked about fading stardom of Bollywood actors, he told Pinkvilla, 'Yeah, because they are everywhere. One can spot actors anywhere nowadays. When you start watching something too much, you get tired. That is exactly I think what is happening. We celebrate things which others in the world cannot afford.' While there are many actors today who have it in them to be a superstar. However, they don’t behave like them. There is Ranbir Kapoor, Tiger Shroff and Ranveer Singh. They are all in their own world, he added.
Suniel Shetty's ‘Dharavi Bank' will stream on MX Player from November 19.
