Actor Bobby Deol has been garnering immense praise for his 15-minute role in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ‘Animal’. The audience can’t stop gushing about his enigmatic screen presence.
Now, his brother, actor Sunny Deol has reviewed ‘Animal’ and said that he did not like everything about the film.
In a chat with PTI, Sunny said that he has watched Animal and is ‘very happy for Bobby.’
Calling it a ‘nice film’, Sunny added that there were certain things in the film that he did not appreciate.
‘There are certain things that I did not like, which I don’t like in many films including my own films. But that’s as a person I have the right to like or not like but in totality it is a nice film. The music is very good and it goes hand in glove with the sequences. Bobby has always been Bobby, but now he is Lord Bobby,’ he told PTI.
Bobby Deol starred as Abrar in the film, who is the arch nemesis of Ranbir Kapoor’s Ranvijay.
In one of the scenes of the film, Abrar is shown to be sexually assaulting his third wife.
Talking about the scene, Bobby told The Quint, ‘I’m not trying to promote anything. Yes, it was required. How do you showcase a character in such a short span, show what this man is capable of, what kind of person he is? All these scenes were required.’
Actor Mansi Taxak, who plays Bobby’s third wife in the film, also defended the scene and told Zoom Entertainment, ‘It was just that Bobby sir did not expect his brother’s death news to come on the wedding, which puts the character into a zone where he couldn’t think straight. And that’s what we’re talking about, right? Animal instincts are unpredictable instincts. So he goes into that zone, and to vent out his emotions, he comes to his wives. I don’t think it was intended to be any sort of assault. I didn’t feel it on the set, or in the script. That was not the case. It was just a relationship between two people that has panned out the way it did.’
‘Animal’ has earned over Rs 800 crore globally.
