Even as fans are eagerly waiting for the third installment of superhit ‘Aashiqui’ franchise, T-Series has issued a statement, denying their involvement in the film. This update comes as a big setback after reports of Kartik Aaryan and Triptii Dimri have been roped in for the film.
Amid the rumours of Kartik Aaryan and Triptii Dimri being roped in for the film, the production house has denied producing the film. In a statement, T-Series said, “T-Series wishes to clarify that we are not presently involved in the development or production of Aashiqui 3. If and when Aashiqui 3 is initiated, T-Series and Vishesh Films / Mukesh Bhatt being joint owners in the franchise shall produce it jointly only. We categorically deny any ongoing rumours suggesting that Aashiqui 3 is being produced under a different title by T- Series.” The production house further stated that they are currently working on another film with director Anurag Basu. “Our proposed film to be directed by Anurag Basu is neither ‘Aashiqui 3’ nor part of the ‘Aashiqui ‘franchise,” the statement added.
Kartik Aaryan had posted a picture with Anurag Basu, Pritam, Bhushan Kumar and Mahesh Bhatt with a caption, “Team ‘A’”in September 2023. He had also shared a video on his Instagram with the song ‘Ab Tere Bin’ playing in the background. In the caption, the actor wrote, "Ab Tere Bin Ji Lenge Hum Zeher Zindagi Ka Pi Lenge Hum #Aashiqui3 This one is going to be heart-wrenching !! My First with Basu Da (Anurag Basu)". Later in December, reports emerged that Triptii Dimri will be seen romancing Kartik Aaryan in ‘Aashiqui 3’.
The first film of the ‘Aashiqui’ franchise, which released in 1990, had Rahul Roy and Anu Aggarwal in the lead role. Second intallment of the franchise saw Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor setting the screen on fire with their chemistry.
