Star kids Suhana Khan and Agastya Nanda are gearing up for their Bollywood debut in Zoya Akhtar's film "The Archies."
At a recent song launch event, the duo danced to one of the movie's tracks, donning stylish outfits.
However, their performance faced criticism online, with netizens labeling it as reminiscent of a "school annual function" and likening it to a "kindergarten dance."
Despite the trolling, Suhana and Agastya, rumored to be dating, have often been spotted together at events.
Suhana even attended Agastya's midnight birthday celebration, sparking further speculation about their relationship.
However, both have remained tight-lipped about their personal equation. Their on-screen collaboration in "The Archies" marks an anticipated pairing among audiences.
Directed by Zoya Akhtar, "The Archies," based on a comic of the same name, boasts a star-studded ensemble including Khushi Kapoor, Suhana Khan, Agastya Nanda, Vedang Raina, Mihir Ahuja, and Dot.
The movie's trailer received positive feedback, particularly for the ensemble's acting prowess.
Scheduled for a Netflix premiere on December 7, the film has also stirred a debate on the casting of star kids.
Zoya Akhtar, in an interview to India Today, acknowledged considering the idea but ultimately prioritized merit over fame.
She defended her decision, emphasizing that casting should focus on talent rather than parental recognition.
While addressing concerns about casting star kids, Akhtar stressed the importance of choosing actors based on their suitability for roles.
Despite contemplating the impact of their lineage, she affirmed that Suhana and Agastya's auditions showcased promise and suitability for their respective characters, emphasizing the essence of meritocracy in casting decisions.
Ultimately, she emphasized her commitment to the film's quality above all else.
