Sudipto Sen’s controversial film 'The Kerala Story' has ‘passed the crucial Monday Test with distinction marks’, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh. The film has earned ₹45.72 crore so far and is inching towards the ₹50 crore mark. The film earned Rs 10.07 crore on Monday which is more than what it minted on its opening day.

‘The Kerala Story’ has been criticised by many for alleged factual inaccuracies and even it received poor reviews by critics. The movie has been removed from the multiplexes in Tamil Nadu and West Bengal.
'The Kerala Story' was released on May 5. It has emerged as the second biggest hit of 2023 after Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Pathaan'.
