Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan’s bromance in Siddharth Anand’s latest release ‘Pathaan’ is being loved by millions of fans across the globe. The superstars enjoy a massive fan following individually, but there is a separate fan base for them together.
‘Karan Arjun’, which released in 1995, marked the first time SRK and Salman shared the screen space. They played brothers in the movie that was directed by Rakesh Roshan. Rakhee’s ‘Mere bete Karan Arjun aayenge’ is still one of the most memorable and iconic dialogues of the movie.
The duo then reunited onscreen in Karan Johar’s ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ (1998). Salman made a special appearance in the second half of the film as Kajol’s character Anjali’s NRI fiancé. He decides to let go the love of his life, in order to reunite Rahul and Anjali (SRK and Kajol). KJo had revealed that Salman had agreed to the supporting role in this film for his father, filmmaker Yash Johar. He even bagged Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor.
‘Hum Tumhare Hai Sanam’ (2002) has the distinction of being only the second film to star both Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan in lead roles. The Khans featured alongside Madhuri Dixit in this film, but it failed to impressed the audience. Scenes of angry altercations between Salman and SRK weren’t all that memorable either.
The actors then went on to make special appearances in each other’s films like Shah Rukh Khan made a cameo in Salman Khan starrer ‘Har Dil Jo Pyaar Karega’ (2000) and featured in the title song’s music video, Salman made a cameo in Shah Ruk’s ‘Om Shanti Om’ (2007). He featured in the party song ‘Deewangi Deewangi’.
Shah Rukh Khan and Salman then reunited on the big screen after a gap of 10 years. Shah Rukh will made a cameo in Salman-starrer ‘Tubelight’ (2017) where he played a magician, Goga Pasha.
A year later, Salman did a cameo in SRK’s film ‘Zero’ which terribly bombed at the box office. The actor had featured in the music video ‘Issaqbaazi’.
Now after watching them together in ‘Pathaan’, fans are eagerly waiting to see Shah Rukh Khan be a part of Salman Khan's ‘Tiger 3’. Come Eid 2023, fans will be in for a double treat.
