Renowned playback singer Sharda Ranjan died on June 14 after a long battle with cancer. She was 89.
The news of her death was shared by her daughter on social media.
Sharda Ranjan is remembered for songs like 'Titli Ud' from 'Suraj' and 'Baat Zara Hai Aapas Ki' from 'Jahan Pyar Mile'.
Raj Kapoor reportedly introduced Sharda Rajan to Bollywood and she was promoted by Shankar Jaikishan.
Sharda collaborated with several singers in the industry including Mohammed Rafi, Asha Bhosle, Kishore Kumar, Mukesh and Suman Kalyanpur.
She sang for leading ladies like Vyjayanthimala, Sadhana, Saira Banu, Hema Malini and Sharmila Tagore.
Sharda Ranjan was reportedly the first Indian singer to drop a pop album, titled 'Sizzlers' in 1971.
