Twinkle Khanna stepped in to support Deepika Padukone amid a social media uproar following the ‘Pathaan’ actor’s revelation about her dating choices on ‘Koffee With Karan’ Season 8.

Twinkle, in her blog post for Times of India, expressed disbelief at the backlash received by Deepika for her openness about dating multiple men before committing to Ranveer Singh.

She highlighted the societal outrage triggered by Deepika's statement, questioning the narrow perspective of many towards such relationship dynamics.

In her blog, Twinkle emphasized the need for making informed choices in relationships, citing Deepika's decision as potentially beneficial in steering women away from unsuitable matches.

She underscored the significance of understanding one's preferences and experiences before committing, subtly referencing the societal pressure often exerted on women in the context of marriage.

Deepika's revelation on ‘Koffee With Karan’ shed light on her desire for independence and the need for personal growth before committing to Ranveer Singh.

She conveyed her intent to remain unattached for a while due to past difficulties in relationships, emphasizing that their union evolved naturally without a formal commitment until Ranveer proposed.

The couple's love story blossomed on the sets of ‘Ram Leela,’ culminating in a relationship that endured over six years before their November 2018 marriage.

Recently, celebrating their 5th wedding anniversary, Deepika and Ranveer exemplified a resilient bond that emerged from a foundation of mutual understanding and respect.
