Shah Rukh Khan-Deepika Padukone starrer ‘Pathaan’ is a global success and the film has caught the attention of international critics as well. In an article, American journalist and critic, Scott Mendelson, referred to Shah Rukh as India's Tom Cruise and angered King Khan’s fans who asked him to reword his piece.
The article by the US journalist, titled 'India’s Tom Cruise Shah Rukh Khan May Have Just Saved Bollywood With His Blockbuster 'Pathaan'', has been published for the website The Wrap.
It looks at how the film, which marks SRK’s return to the big screen after four years, is reviving the Hindi film industry after a rough phase.
Replying to Scott's tweet, many users asked him not to compare Shah Rukh with the ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ star and pointed out the disrespect handed out to the ‘Dil Se’ actor in the comparison.
‘Pathaan’, directed by Siddharth Anand, released worldwide on January 25. It also stars John Abraham, Dimple Kapadia and Ashutosh Rana. The Hindi film has collected around ₹700 crore at the worldwide box office since its release.
