Varun Dhawan’s highly anticipated film 'Baby John' will now arrive in theatres this Christmas, the makers announced Wednesday. The new release date of the film, which was previously slated to be released in the first half of the year, now coincides with the speculated release of Aamir Khan's film 'Sitaare Zameen Par,' adding to the decorated list of decorated big-budget box office showdown of 2024.
Baby John, starring Varun Dhawan in the lead, has been postponed to Christmas 2024, bringing festive cheers to the fans of the actor. The makers announced the news with a new poster on Instagram. “Christmas this year just got merrier. Brace yourselves for Baby John releasing on December 25th (sic).” Although makers have now shared a reason for the delay, media reports have suggested that the release date was pushed given the heavy reliance on visual effects and action sequences.
Aamir Khan is coming back to the big screen with a new film, titled 'Sitaare Zameen Par', a spin-off to his 2007 hit 'Taare Zameen Par'. Aside from Aamir confirming that the project is in development, details related to the upcoming film have not been known. However, the actor at TV9 Summit said that they are pushing for a Christmas release date. Now, if the announcement is made official, the film will have a box office clash with Varun Dhawan's 'Baby John'. This would mark the first showdown between Varun and Aamir.
'Baby John' is directed by A. Kaleeswaran and produced by Murad Khetani, Priya Atlee, and Jyoti Deshpande, The film is an S Thaman musical. It is presented by Jio Studios, Atlee, in association with A for Apple Studios and Cine1 Studios. The film will also star Keerthy Suresh and Wamiqa Gabbi will be seen in pivotal roles, along with the additions of Jackie Shroff and Rajpal Yadav.
