Veteran actor Satinder Kumar Khosla, who was best known for his role in ‘Sholay’, died on September 12. He died due to cardiac arrest at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Hospital. His final rites will be performed on September 13.

The official X (formerly known as Twitter) account of the Cine & TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA) paid heartfelt condolences to Satinder. The post read, ‘CINTAA expresses its condolences on the demise of Birbal (Member since 1981).’
Satinder, whose prolific career spanned over five decades, was best known for his comic characters. He worked in several films of Manoj Kumar including ‘Upkar’, ‘Roti Kapda Aur Makaan’, and Kranti. His role as a prisoner in ‘Sholay’ garnered him a lot of attention. He was also featured in films like ‘Naseeb’, ‘Yaarana’, ‘Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke’ and ‘Anjaam’ among others.
Born in 1938, in Gurdaspur in Punjab, Satinder made his acting debut with the film ‘Upkar’ in 1967 and went on to feature in numerous films across various languages including Hindi, Punjabi, Bhojpuri, and Marathi.
