Veteran actor Vikram Gokhale, who has worked in multiple Hindi and Marathi films, is admitted in Pune's Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital, according to news agency PTI. He had retired from Marathi theatre due to persistent throat issues in 2016.

A report in Marathi outlet Navshakti states that he was hospitalized a few days ago and his condition had stabilised after treatment. However, his condition has now deteriorated and he's critical.

No details about his illness are known and the hospital hasn't made any official statement yet.
Vikram Gokhale made his film debut with Amitabh Bachchan's 1971 film 'Parwana'. He's best known for his work in films like 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam', 'Agneepath', and 'Khuda Gawah'.

In 2010, he won the National Award for Best Actor for his performance in Marathi film 'Anumati'. He made his directorial debut the same year with the Marathi film 'Aaghaat'.

He was last seen in 'Nikamma', starring Abhimanyu Desai and Shilpa Shetty, which was released in theatres in June this year.
