Actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut was allegedly slapped by a woman CISF constable at Chandigarh airport on Thursday. A day after the incident, CISF filed an FIR and suspended the lady constable. While the social media is divided over the entire incident, singer Vishal Dadlani has reacted and backed the constable in his latest Instagram post.
Vishal Dadlani backed the CISF constable in a post shared on his Instagram stories. His first post supporting the constable read, “I do not ever support violence, but I absolutely understand this @official_cisf personnel’s anger. If any action is taken against her by the CISF, I will ensure that she has a job waiting for her should she choose to accept it.”
Later when the news of the constable’s suspension surfaced, Dadlani again took to Instagram to show support for the woman constable. He reiterated his job offer to her and wrote, “Again, if Ms. Kaur is removed from duty, someone get her in touch with me and I will ensure she is gainfully employed.”
The incident reportedly occurred after an argument broke out during frisking at the airport. The constable, identified as Kulwinder Kaur, is said to have been angry at Ranaut over her statement made during the farmers' protest. In a video that has gone viral on social media, the constable shouted that Kangana made a statement that the protesting farmers were sitting there for ₹100.
Following the incident, the actor-turned-politician narrated the ordeal in a social media post. Ranaut said she was hit on the face and that the attacker identified herself as a supporter of the farmer's protest. Kangana also raised a question on what she called "rising terror in Punjab".
Kangana was elected to Lok Sabha from Mandi constituency in Himachal Pradesh where she defeated her nearest Congress rival by over 74,000 votes.
