World Cup 2023: Anushka Sharma lauds Virat Kohli as he scores 50th ODI century; calls him ‘God's child'

Actor Anushka Sharma cheered for her husband, cricketer Virat Kohli as he broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record of most centuries in ODI cricket during the World Cup semi-final match against New Zealand on November 16.

After showering him with flying kisses in the stadium, the actor took to Instagram to pen a touching note for the cricketer.

Sharing a picture of Virat Kohli on her Instagram Stories, Anushka wrote, ‘God is the best scriptwriter! Utterly grateful to him for blessing me with your love, and to watch you grow from strength to strength and achieve all that you have and will, being honest to yourself and to the sport always. You are truly God's child.’

Anushka also shared a picture of Team India and wrote, ‘This. gun. Team’ on her Instagram Stories.

India beat New Zealand by 70 runs to reach the World Cup final. It will face South Africa or Australia on the field on November 19.

Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Sidharth Malhotra are among many other celebrities who have congratulated the Men in Blue on social media.

Anushka’s pregnancy rumours

As Anushka continues to attend Team India's crucial matches, she is rumoured to be expecting her second child with Virat. She and Virat have neither denied nor confirmed the rumours, leaving fans wondering.

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma tied the knot in December 2017 in Italy. They welcomed their daughter Vamika in January 2021.

Anushka’s work front

Anushka Sharma was last seen in a cameo in the Netflix film ‘Qala’. She will next be seen in ‘Chakda Xpress’, a biopic on cricketer Jhulan Goswami. The movie, directed by Prosit Roy, is expected to be released on Netflix soon.
