Canadian rapper Drake took to his Instagram stories to pay tribute to late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala, who was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Punjab's Mansa district on Sunday. Drake shared a picture of the singer with his mother, captioned 'RIP Moose.'

The rapper made headlines in 2020 when he started following Sidhu on Instagram. The fans were delighted and hopeful of a collaboration between the two.

Sidhu too followed Drake on Instagram and considered him one of his musical influences.
Several other celebrities, including Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal, Diljit Dosanjh, Shehnaz Gill, Ajay Devgn, and Kapil Sharma, also condoled the death of Sidhu Moose Wala.

The security of the singer was withdrawn by the AAP-ruled state government on Saturday.

Sidhu joined the Indian National Congress party in December 2021. He fought the recent Assembly election in the state from Mansa but was defeated by AAP's Vijay Singla.

Canada-based Goldy Brar has reportedly claimed responsibility for the murder of Sidhu Moose Wala.
