Diljit Dosanjh made headlines on Friday as he was accused of not paying the desi dancers who performed with him during the Dil-Luminati tour. Punjabi singer’s manager has responded to the allegations in an interview with a news outlet.

Diljit Dosanjh’s manager responds

Hitting back at the allegations, Diljit Dosanjh’s manager Sonali said in a statement to News 18 that they never contacted the people who are peddling false narratives. “Our official team never contacted Rajat Batta or Manpreet Toor who are presenting false narratives on social media. Rajat and Manpreet were not part of the Dil-Luminati Tour in any way,” she said.

While his manager has responded to the controversy, Diljit himself has maintained silence in the matter. The singer has been instead posting updates on his upcoming Dil-Luminati tour stops.

Allegations against Diljit Dosanjh

Los Angeles based choreographers and dance institute owners Rajat Batta and Manpreet Toor made big allegations against the ‘Lover’ singer on social media. Batta penned a long note on Instagram and wrote, “All of the Desi Dancers in Diljit’s Dil-Luminati Tour were not paid, and just expected to perform for free...”

Quickly responding to the allegations, Diljit Dosanjh’s bhangra teams praised Diljit and his team and expressed support for the singer. “While we appreciate the concern, we do not wish to be represented by the voices who don’t understand our relationship, our motivations, sacrifices, and the immense value we place on such experiences. We are proud of our participation and the new avenues it has opened for the Punjabi community,” they wrote in a joint post.
