Esha Deol has navigated significant personal changes since announcing her divorce from Bharat Takhtani in February. In an exclusive interview with The Quint, the actress candidly discussed the trials of adjusting to single parenthood and the art of co-parenting.
Reflecting on her evolving family dynamics, Esha was clear about her priorities: the wellbeing of her children. "When kids are involved, it’s crucial to set aside any personal ego. As parents, it’s our responsibility to ensure the best for our children," she said. "By doing so, the co-parent often aligns, and together, you learn to co-parent."
Esha believes that maintaining a united front is essential for children’s emotional security. "For the sake of your kids, you must remain a cohesive unit," she emphasized. "The parental unit may have changed, but your responsibility towards your children remains unwavering. It can be challenging, but persistence is key."
On stepping back from acting, Esha expresses no regrets. "Motherhood has been fulfilling, and I always desired a family," she shared. "For my daughters, seeing their mom on screen is a source of pride."
Esha and Bharat, who tied the knot in 2012, share two daughters, Miraya and Radhya. Despite the changes in their personal relationship, Esha remains committed to ensuring a stable and loving environment for her children.
