From Miss World to global superstar: Desi girl Priyanka Chopra’s inspiring journey

In her most gorgeous era, Priyanka Chopra is celebrating her 42nd birthday. From becoming Miss World to taking over hearts of Indian cinema lovers and again finding a new identity in Hollywood, Priyanka’s journey is an inspiration for all the future dreamers and achievers.  

Family and early childhood 

Born in the family of doctors, Priyanka spent her early childhood in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly. The actor borrowed her strength from her parents who supported her dreams and believed in her. She relocated to US for a few years before returning to India.  

Entry to world of glamour 

It all began when Priyanka’s mother Madhu Chopra entered her in the Femina Miss India contest where she ended up becoming the runner-up. At the age of 18, Priyanka made India proud by winning the prestigious Miss World title in 2000. She became India’s fifth Miss World and got her ticket to the world of glamour.

Taking over the Bollywood 

Thanks to her soaring popularity, Priyanka who dreamt of being an aeronautical engineer, began her acting career. Her first acting project was a Tamil film in 2002, but she got her Bollywood break in ‘The Hero: Love Story of a Spy’. The film was a huge success and paved the way for her roles. She went to work in films like ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’ and ‘Aitraaz’. Despite a few flop films, Priyanka bounced back with ‘Krrish’ and ‘Don-The Chase Begins Again’.  

Priyanka’s filmography is a proof of her growth as an actor. Her acting in ‘Fashion’, ‘Barfi’, ‘Mary Kom’, ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’, and ‘Bajirao Mastani’ established her as one of the finest in the industry. 

Making of a global icon  

Despite the immense success, Priyanka’s dreams knew no boundary. In 2015, Priyanka made her Hollywood debut with American TV show ‘Quantico’. The show received considerable success and made way for PeeCee’s global fame. She became the first South Asian actor to headline an American network series. Priyanka has not looked back since then. She has starrer in multiple Hollywood projects including ‘Citadel’, ‘Baywatch’ and ‘Isn’t it romantic’.  

Priyanka Chopra: The Business Tycoon 

Beyond Bollywood and Hollywood glamour, Priyanka has also established herself as an entrepreneur. She established her own production company ‘Purple Pebble Pictures’ where she promotes diverse content. In 2021, PeeCee launched her eco-friendly hair care brand ‘Anamoly’. In the same year, she opened a new restaurant in New York. Promoting the Indian cuisine on global map, Priyanka’s restaurant SONA received rave reviews from the celebrities and other guests, however in 2023, she pulled out of the venture.  

Besides these business ventures, the actor also invested significant amount in ventures like Bumble and real estate.  

UNICEF association 

Priyanka Chopra has always been vocal for the right causes. She has been associated with UNICEF for many years. She was the National Ambassador to UNICEF India for ten years and then became the global Goodwill Ambassador team.  

Motherhood journey 

Apart from her professional achievements, Priyanka is enjoying her personal life. The actor is happily married to Nick Jonas and the two share a daughter Malti Marie. PeeCee often posts adorable and cute videos featuring her daughter.  

Priyanka’s recent visit 

Priyanka Chopra was recently seen at the Ambani wedding. She took part in the wedding celebrations with her husband Nick Jonas. In the viral inside videos, Priyanka was seen dancing to the tunes of Bollywood songs.
