In one of the most shocking moments during the live telecast of Oscars 2022, Best Actor winner Will Smith slapped presenter Chris Rock on stage, leaving the audience quite confused and speechless about whether the incident was genuine or scripted.
Smith lost his cool after the comedian made a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith's bald look at the awards ceremony
Smith did not appreciate the joke and walked up to the stage to punch Chris Rock who had a look of bewilderment on his face.
After heading back to his seat, Will Smith shouted back at the comedian from the audience and said 'keep my wife’s name out your mouth'.
Jada Pinkett Smith suffers from alopecia, an auto-immune disease that results in hair loss. The actor had publicly announced that she was shaving off her head due to the illness.
Later, Smith while accepting the best actor Oscar award for 'King Richard', apologised to the film academy and his fellow nominees. But he did not address Rock and attempted to justify what he did.
