Summary:
Elon Musk took charge as Twitter CEO in October after finalising a $44 billion takeover. Following this, many celebrities have started to leave social networking service. Now, Elon’s former girlfriend Amber Heard has also deleted her Twitter account.
Her exit from Twitter was first noticed by YouTuber Matthew Lewis, also known as That Umbrella Guy, who tweeted on Wednesday: ‘Amber Heard has deleted her Twitter.’
It is unclear when or why Amber Heard deactivated her account. The other celebrities who have quit Twitter in the past week include Toni Braxton, actor Shonda Rhimes, and retired professional wrestler Mick Foley.
Amber Heard and Elon Musk were in a relationship between 2016 and 2018 post the actor’s divorce from Johnny Depp.
In June, Amber lost a defamation case against her former husband, ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ actor Johnny Depp and the court had ordered her to pay $10.35 million to him. Elon Musk was expected to testify at the trial but he did not take the stand.
Elon Musk has fired top executives and initiated major changes after acquiring Twitter, including announcing a fee of $8 for the verification process to get a blue tick for your handle.
