Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's son, Pax Jolie-Pitt, has been hospitalized following a head injury sustained in a serious crash. The 20-year-old was riding his electric bike in Los Angeles when he collided with the back of a car, law enforcement sources told TMZ.
The car's driver immediately got out to check on Pax, who complained of head and hip pain. Witnesses at the scene reported that Pax appeared to have injured his head in the crash. Concerned about the possibility of bleeding in the brain, first responders rushed him to the hospital.
Sources later informed TMZ that Pax was in stable condition, though the full extent of his injuries remains unclear.
In recent months, Pax has been seen around Los Angeles on a Talaria Sting R MX4 electric bike, which costs around $3,000. It is unclear if this was the same bike involved in the crash. He was most recently seen riding the bike without a helmet on July 11. California state laws require all bike and motorcycle riders under 18 to wear helmets, but it is unclear if the type of bike Pax was riding required him to wear one.
Pax was adopted by Jolie from Vietnam in 2007 at the age of three. She and her ex, Brad Pitt, share five other children: Maddox (22), Zahara (19), Shiloh (18), and twins Knox and Vivienne (16).
Jolie adopted Maddox in Cambodia in 2002, and Zahara in Ethiopia in 2005. Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne are their biological children. Pitt later adopted Maddox and Zahara in 2006 and Pax in 2008.
Pitt and Jolie began dating publicly in 2005, shortly after Pitt's divorce from Jennifer Aniston. The couple, co-stars in Mr. and Mrs. Smith, remained unmarried for years despite having multiple adopted and biological children. They got engaged in 2012 and married in 2014. However, Jolie filed for divorce in 2016, and they were declared legally single in 2019. The two have been engaged in an ongoing divorce battle over assets and custody ever since.
