'Avatar: The Way of Water' released on December 16 and had a great opening at the box office. The James Cameron directorial earned Rs 40 crore on its first day and it exceeded all expectations on the second day. 'Avatar 2' has already managed to cross the Rs 100 crore mark. It is expected to cross Rs 200 crore mark in its first week.
The film is the second highest box office opener in India after 'Avengers: The Endgame' which earned Rs 53 crore on its opening day.
'Avatar: The Way of Water' had already earned over Rs 1,500 crore worldwide.
The 'Avatar' sequel released in cinemas after 13 years and apart from the original cast Kate Winslet is a new addition. Kate has reunited with Cameron after the iconic film 'Titanic.'
The film talks about revenge, family, love and acceptance. The dense forests have now changed into the tranquil waters of Metkayina which is a safe harbour for Jake living with his Na’vi mate, Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña). They have two sons, Neteyam (Jamie Flatters) and Lo’ak, and a daughter, Tuk (Trinity Jo-Li Bliss). But they can not enjoy peace for a long time and Jake has to regroup to protect his family.
Sam Worthington plays Jame Sully, Zoe Saldana plays the role of Neytiri, while Dr. Grace Augustine is played by Sigourne Weaver.
