Actor Simu Liu, who plays an important role in the upcoming film ‘Barbie’, opened up about his fascination for Indian cinema in an interview Pinkvilla.
Simu is the latest addition to the long list of foreign celebrities who have lauded SS Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’, which bagged an Oscar for Best Original Song, ‘Naatu Naatu’.
Speaking with Pinkvilla, Simu Liu said that he was mind-blown by ‘RRR’.
‘RRR this year was so phenomenal. It was absolutely incredible. And, it blew me away,’ he said.
He also compared Bollywood with his forthcoming movie and said there are a lot of similarities between the two.
‘There’s, you know, just the focus on musicality. There’s such music, songs like singing and dancing, like, you know, the actors are, are performing and they’re singing and there have to be such triple threats and yeah, I feel like, um, you know, I feel like it’s such a natural thing for an actor to look at Bollywood and to want to participate,’ Simu Liu told Pinkvilla.
Liu also shared that he is keen on working in a Bollywood film and dancing to a song in the film.
‘Barbie’ will clash with Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer’ at the box office on July 21 across the world.
